About
OUR MISSION

The Male Bag Foundation Ltd is focused firmly on men’s health:
To promote “awareness of, research into and equipment purchases to fight prostate cancer, through a not for profit foundation!”

Whilst capturing the spirit of adventure through our iconic Postie bike rides, the Male Bag Foundation raises awareness and funds for the fight against this insidious disease. More than 20,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in Australia this year, and around 3,300 will sadly lose their life to the disease.

Robert Glover — Chairman

EVENT

Saturday 19th March to Tuesday 22nd March 2022

Our iconic Postie bikes will leave Melbourne travelling through Shepparton, Swan Hill, Daylesford and returning to Melbourne. During this ride we aim to raise funds to support rural Australians.

Since 2013 The Male Bag Foundation has worked to uphold its major goals of raising awareness of prostate cancer and supporting men, women and families in rural areas of Australia to create more prostate cancer survivors. At the end of 2021 in rural Vic, SA and NSW 400 men a month were having safe, targeted, accurate prostate biopsies free from sepsis infections using the Transperineal Biopsy Machines ( TBM ) that were initiated and partly funded by The Male Bag Foundation.

Funds raised through his years ride will support hospitals in Shepparton and Hobart.

My Story
I am joining this adventure to raise awareness into prostate cancer, helping patients and their families, as well as supporting regional areas with funds to assist with the purchase of a TBM that will be located in the region and will save men the journey into the big cities for a Prostate Biopsy.

Please give as every little bit helps

I have been involved with MBR since the first ride in 2013 when $600k+ was raised - the full donation total is now approaching $2mil which has been used in the purchase of Transperineal biopsy machines, particularly for country hospitals… although the latest effort is toward a machine for Hobart.
Several of my similar aged mates have been invaded by Prostate Cancer; we suggest early detection through your GP. Annual blood tests for cholesterol, diabetes and PSA (prostate) is very simple and straightforward. Talk to your GP.
